PLUS SIZE DESIGNER: TAKE AND LEAVE 2015

Well, it's December. And as the new year ends, what are the things that I would like to take from 2015 and leave with? Even more important, what's yours?

TAKE:

1) General Spirituality. I can't even really think of surviving without it.

2) True friends. I love how the Universe tend to sift my friends for me. Old and new as long as true, they stay with me.

3) The wisdom I gained from the almost 6 month hiatus. I have been yapping about the break I took. Haha. I know. But, as I have always said it was another form of business investment and that's me. I saw things that went wrong, what could have gone right and how I can use it to make it better.

LEAVE:

1) Christmas light friends. 'Nuff said. You know the type that only appears when the season is merry.

2) Unnecessary self-sacrifice. When being a martyr is about boosting your ego, when it's supposed to be done for the purest of reasons --- love.

3) Fear of the new. I'm an old maid. Haha. I like things to stay the same and me being comfortable with it. But, if there is one thing permanent in life, it's change. The hiatus actually taught me some skills on making myself feel comfortable with it. Baby steps but I will get there.

Cheers!

PLUS SIZE DESIGNER: "SO, WE GOT BUSY."

Hi, ladies!

I know that it has been a while. We went MIA and well it has been more than a month since our last post. How crazy is that?

Well, we tried and we pushed but we just know when it's time to take some rest and it's a good thing that we did. We have finally found something that we know we will definitely love serving you girls with.

For now, let's keep it under wraps.

But one thing is for sure, when we said, "fiercer" --- we mean it. And yes, we definitely missed you.

Cheers!

BRAND NEWS! CHANGES

March 21, 2012
10:56 AM

LAYOUT BY THE ORANGE FACTORY

Truth be told, we are very blessed to have awesome Erzulliestas, supporting us all the way from one collection to another, from one bazaar to the next and from one fashion show to another. Because of your support for more than one year in business, we are still handing here right now. We would like to thank all of you for doing so.

Because of your efforts, more and more Erzulliestas are connecting with us and with that, the fashion line is definitely growing. In fact, because of you, we have come up with enough budget to produce 2 separate collections for the holiday. We are now dividing it into Pre-Holiday 2012 and Holiday 2012.

Of course, the first look will be done for each so you better watch out for it. So far, we are gauging that the Pre-Holiday will be released by June or July and the Holiday on October.

In another note, we are also about to change our sizing to conform with the international requirements. We are now going to say good bye to the size L and focusing more on the 1L to 4L. We are also going to conform with the foreign standards of plus size clothing so we are now adjusting out measurements. (A new measurement table will be uploaded).

Finally, we have made changes with our multiply site as well. You can now view the whole new Resort 2012 look book here: http://erzullie.multiply.com

Cheers!

BRAND NEWS! ERZULLIE IN 'SUMMER LIKE IT HOT' OF CODE-LIMITED.COM

MARCH 17, 2012
7:49 PM

ORIGINAL POSTER BY: CODE-LIMITED.COM
Hello Erzulliestas!

After the big success of our public launching last March 2-4, 2012, we have decided to give a 'flash sale' to all the Erzulliestas near the Makati City area.

We are now literally down to our last pieces to some of your favorites, so if you want to get the last pieces before someone else gets to them, you better go. ^^

The flash sale will happen at the SUMMER LIKE IT HOT private sale on MARCH 31, 2012 at the M Cafe Greenbelt Mall 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm only.
If you are wondering what are the clothes that are about to run out. Here they are in random order.

It is also good to note that we won't be having a bazaar this April. Our next bazaar is during Philippine Fashion Week (details to follow) in May. So make sure that you take advantage of this event! ^^

Delivery to the outlets will happen after the flash sale too. So we will only be able to deliver to the outlets what is possible.

P.S. If everything goes well, by June we will be able to have a FIRST LOOK: PRE-HOLIDAY 2012

WOMEN’S POWER DRESSING: WEARING RED

PHOTO FROM: SPORTMAX RESORT 2012
It is the month of love and whether or not you “love it” the popular color of the season is definitely RED. Red oozes with sensuality and feistiness when worn by women. That is why the coveted “perfect red lips” look has always been such a staple in the magazines and those ruby red slippers of Dorothy will never fade in our memories. There is something about the color red that makes people evoke fiery emotions and fiducia in se stesso (self-confidence), as one would say.
So what does this mean in your work place pieces?
Red can actually become the best friend of your corporate garbs. If you are a serial corporate fashionista, you must already have all of the necessary essentials in monochrome (usually from black to white ranges) so that it can easily be mixed and matched. But if you want to be a little adventurous, it is definitely time for you to add a little pop of color here and there to refresh your daily ensemble, and for this month — TRY RED.
Here are some examples that you can add “red” to your wardrobe.
MONOCHROME TOPS, BOTTOMS AND OUTERWEAR
There are some notions that when one says “monochrome” it means the shades of Casablanca movie. It is actually not true. The term “monochrome” just actually mean 1 COLOR. So one way to try on red would be to wear a solid red top. It can be button down or something conservative. It is up to you. Just make sure that the office is still a NO CLEAVAGE ZONE.
PHOTO FROM: SOPHIE THEALLET RESORT 2012
Red bottoms can still be a little corporate, just make sure that they are slacks and reaches until the ankles! Also, they should not (or never be!) ripped or you will look like you are going to a rock concert that no one knew about in the office. Make sure that the lines are clean and the crease is amazingly neat!
PHOTO FROM: REEK KRAKOFF RESORT 2012
Nothing shocks anyone than a nice bright red outerwear. To achieve maximum visual “pop”, wear something dark underneath or white.
PHOTO FROM: 3.1 PHILLIP LIM RESORT 2012
BELTS, BAGS AND OF COURSE — SHOES!
Never, EVER! Underestimate the power of a red belt. If partnered with a lighter counterpart, this can actually sexify your look without the black! (This means that it is an awesome alternative to that mysterious color.) Wear big belts if you need more tummy support and skinny type belts for those who just need to show where their waists are.

When it comes to bags, nothing says FIERCE FASHIONISTA than a small, sophisticated and hard structured RED BAG. Whether or not it is a sling or just a clutch, having one around your usual plain outfit will amplify its audacia!
PHOTO FROM: THEYSKENS THEORY RESORT 2012
Last but not the least, are of course, ANY WOMAN’S arma segreta — the red shoes! Many would say that the black pumps are the timeless, well her sister, the red one, causes the stir from that time frame. Wear amazing red shoes that would pop in your corporate attire. Not only will this give you height, but it will definitely add a zest to your ensemble.

FALL 2012 READY-TO-WEAR TRENDS: PART 1

The designers have released their Fall 2012 Ready-To-Wear (RTW) collections and specific trends are emerging. In fact, there are a lot of emerging trends to the point that this article must be broken down into three parts. These will be the type of fashion styles that will be infecting the streets (depending if people will catch up on it). So let’s see the highlights so far.
BLACK AND WHITE COLOR BLOCKING

Yes ladies. This is color blocking into a whole new level. Gone are the acid brights (thank goodness!). It is time to go back to our minimalistic and noir selves. However, color blocking has been so effective in contouring the female body, the method has not died yet. In fact, it has evolved with our preferences. Black and white is in and this is how you are going to use it!

(FAUX) FUR PLEASE

Unfortunately for PETA fans, FUR ruled the runway. Hopefully, they are all faux. Nevertheless, (our fake) animal skins have donned the runway from being a full fledge outerwear down to just an accessory. They also come in different textures and colors so the choices for your staple wardrobe are endless.

ORDURES (GARBAGE) STYLE
PHOTO FROM: DEGEN-FALL-2012-RTW

We are not talking about the recyclists finally winning the battle with the fashion industry. Although it would be a very happy thought that finally, we can freely wear recycled paper and plastic bottles with pride, this trend has nothing to do with that at all.
Ordures (meaning garbage) style is basically wearing deconstructed pieces of fashion on the runway. As if it has become post apocalyptic and this is what it’s going to be like at that time.

To downplay it a bit, it’s like you have picked up pieces that do not go well together at all, put them on and that is the point. The reason that it is called garbage fashion is because it makes you look like you just came out of a garbage and plastic wrappers or other stuff just decided to stick on you.
Just to be clear, this is a new emerging trend that not all fashion lovers may want for themselves. It looks fun though.
CORPORATE GLAMOUR

Slacks, blazers and pencil skirts also ruled the runway. Finally, some chic corporate attires that you can gladly wear with pride on the streets! Black, gray and white are also prevalent. So feel fierce in your chic corporate glory!

WOMEN’S POWER DRESSING: THE ROMANTIC STYLE

PHOTO FROM: DOUGLASS HANNANT SPRING 2012 RTW
It doesn’t have to be love month for you to try out a whole new different style genre for your work place — romantic type. To differentiate it from the “girly” genre, the romantic style of clothing is like an old time feminine, as opposed to the girly which is updated and fun. The romantic style is a little conservative, mostly pastel in color, involves any soft fabric — probably lace and velvet and the print? Floral. Pearls and old world (Victorian types) accessories are also the perennial arsenals of the romantic type dresser.
So how can you merge this style with the usually perceived corporate garb of solid, dark colors with textures that are usually of in the crisp and hard levels?
Here are some tips and tricks to bring out your romantic side in your corporate style.
THE SOFT, PASTEL COLORED TOP AND BOTTOM
Whether or not you are wearing a blazer, one way of invoking the romantic theme in your corporate garb is to add a little soft factor in the inner fashion items that you use. Now, we are not talking about the handkerchief — although it adds a little Victorian-esque feel, no one really sees that. We are also not talking about very soft underwear. We are talking about a soft material with pastel colored top. This is a nice way to break the hard pencil skirt you can be pairing this with or slacks.
PHOTO FROM: FACTORY BY ERIK HART SPRING 2012 RTW
If the top can be soft and pastel in color, why not the bottom right?
Now it is good to note that bottoms are the ones that usually get most of the attention as it is what moves around the office a lot when you pass by. That is why it is good to advice that when you do decide to wear something soft and pastel for a bottom, make sure that you tame it with a grounded top/blazer so as you would still look corporate. This applies to both full skirt and slacks.

From this, just choose one route and then wear pearl accessories. Just a hint of pearl would do. You don’t need to wear matching sets! That is so passare! Wear it with a loose up do with braids and you are all set!
EMBRACE THE LACE, KISS THE FLORALS
Of course, it would not be romantic without a touch of lace. Now, we are not advising that you go out there wearing JUST LACE. Make sure that you wear a soft light basic underneath. If it is a dress or a top, make sure that it is still proper for the office. Wear outerwear if applicable.
PHOTO FROM: DAMIR DOMA SPRING 2012 RTW
As of lace bottoms, it can be worn but the downfall of that one is that lace gets ruined easily and you may find yourself with a fashion emergency at the end of the day.
When it comes to florals, the pop of red is always the expected when it comes to romantic dressing. Try on a nice floral dress reaching below the knee and cover up with a grounded top to look polished for work still.
