Good Morning, Erzulliestas!

We would like to thank all of the Erzulliestas that shopped like a boss in our booth last weekend (July 12-14, 2013; 10am-9pm) in the SuperSale Bazaar, Hall D, World Trade Center Pasay City! You girls are amazing and we are very happy that you girls loved our latest collection (some styles have sold out already), updated booth set up (aka our new fierce plus size mothership) and of course, our new amazing beacon (aka shop sign --- the smexy LOREN MONARES tarpaulin).

We would also like to thank our personal shoppers, Apple Pueblo and Monica Reyes, for being such amazing part of the team as well as the professional organizers of the event. PLUS SIZE MODEL: ERZULLIE ICON KAT LOPEZ ON #TNEI2013

Newly inducted and current, Erzullie Icon, Kat Lopez is sharing her thoughts, tips and tricks for the upcoming applicants of The Next Erzullie Icon Search 2013. As one of the successful applicants of TNEI last year, we thought that you girls may be intrigued on some of the lessons that she has learned along the way.

On sending your application:

Do follow instructions. Aries and Berna are mighty strict concerning that one. It’s a reflection they say of the applicant's professionalism.

On creating a portfolio:

Use well lighted studio or outdoor pictures. I did not opt to put selfies in mine because even if the angle is very flattering in a selfie, it's very unnatural (distorted even).

On the plus size model go see proper:

Come on time, and socialize with the other applicants. Not just because meeting new friends is fun but because lets face it, we are a growing community with a social stand that when banded together, have the potential to inspire thousands.

Wear clothes that show your figure. I wore a loose top during the go see and aries and berna had to let me tuck it in tightly.

On being interviewed by the designers:

Keep answers short sweet and direct to the point.

Get ready with your poses!

On being selected as an Erzullie Icon:

Celebrate! You'll be having lots of fabulous pictures soon!

Even if the job is lenient in terms of size and shape, i think its still important to keep fit. Good nutrition and sleep will show on your face, and you need the strength and flexibility to pull of certain poses for extended periods of time. Work on your core since you'll be wearing heels all the time.

PLUS SIZE LIFE: "A TREND IS NOTHING IF IT DOESN'T COMPLEMENT MY STYLE."

An Erzulliesta is a plus size fashion force of her own. She doesn't necessarily follow trends. Should she follow, it would be because it fits her own image. A trend is not stylish if it doesn't excite and entice her. She's fearless in trying it out but she makes sure that it doesn't consume her.

As such, this week's mantra is only fitting for our fierce plus size fashion community--- "A trend is nothing if it doesn't complement my style."

PLUS SIZE FASHION: THE ERZULLIESTA JULY 2013 (3)

Another fierce plus size fashion week has passed! Obviously, for us, this week was all about (but not entirely) Erzullie's public release of its first demi-couture collection --- Pre-Holiday 2013!

But before we get down to the details, here is LAST WEEK'S Erzullie report The Erzulliesta July 2013 (2). It basically covered some local plus size fashion community news and of course, some Erzulliesta goodies that we know you girls will definitely love!

And now, FOR THIS WEEK!

#1 This week we continued the short and powerful Erzulliesta Mantras. From "curvy and loving it" we went with one of the most important style lessons of all --- "I dress to impress myself."

#2 As we have mentioned earlier, it was all about Erzullie's public release of our maiden demi-couture collection --- Pre-Holiday 2013! Erzulliestas also enjoyed our exclusive sale (50%) during the event (Super Sale Bazaar July 12-14, 2013). They were also catered by personal shoppers, Apple Pueblo and Monica Reyes. We also chronicled our experience during the bazaar from Day 1, 2, 3, but photos of the whole event will be released soon! So stay tuned for that.

#3 In other plus size news, Mega Magazine has again featured some plus size fashion styles in their July 2013 issue. Although again, we wish some local plus size fashion lines were featured as well, it's still as fierce as ever! (One day... One day.)

#4 The Next Erzullie Icon Search 2013 (#TNEI2013) is on and we are very happy to have received a lot of plus size model applications. And to aid the current and future applicants, here is Erzullie Icon, Loren Monares, giving advice on some parts of the whole process.
