So, as part of the body type series, I am going to tackle the most common one: Help! My _______________ is too big than the rest of my body!
So if you are a girl that has a big __________ and smaller size of the rest all over, this article is great for you!
BEFORE WE START
Before you start, you may want to read this article so that you'll know more of what I am talking about.
Also, technically for this type of body, you can do three things. First, you can Minimize that body part. Next, you can amp up the volume of the rest of your body. The choice is yours. Finally, just do both!
For now, I will just give you ways to minimize that body part. The article will be too long if I discuss the rest of the two. I will be discussing them anyway in the future, so let's just focus on one topic for the moment.
BODY TYPE: BIG ARMS, SMALL/MEDIUM EVERYTHING ELSE
This is I guess, the most common of all of the body parts being too big for the rest of the body.
So, to minimize this body part, you can wear clothes with sleeves that hug but does not suffocate your arms. Make sure that it reaches until your elbows. Also, dark tops would help you in this matter. Wearing light colored clothes can actually visually add emphasis on it.
Check out Erzullie Icon Kristel Ocampo for a moment. See how the dark blue, cut out sleeve top has minimized her arms? It's because of the color and since she has fair skin, our attention goes directly on the skin showing off right now.

In another light, be wary of cut outs that are horizontal, bigger than the width of your arms (left to right), on tight, stretchable sleeves.
Why?
Well it will stretch and emphasize how big your arms are. Think of the baguette the bread...
However, if you still love horizontal cut outs on LIGHTER shades of tops (the fashion rebel that you are), then choose ones that is loose on your arms and everything else (to add volume to your chest and waist etc). Just like this photo

BODY TYPE: BIG SHOULDERS, SMALL/MEDIUM EVERYTHING ELSE
When I mean big shoulders, I mean broad ones like a hanger thing. Hehehehe. You can actually minimize this by wearing any top that is V-neck to draw the attention away from the shoulders and no detailing on the shoulders at all. A great example would be this printed v-neck dress worn by Erzullie Icon Katrina Catapia:

There are a lot of way sot minimize the boobs. You can wear minimizing bras etc. Other options would be to avoid wearing plain light colored tops as this will actually enhance your boobs. Next, wear small dark prints to minimize that area of yours. Example would be this maxi dress from Resort 2011 worn by Erzullie Icon Jaye Querubin.

BODY TYPE: BIG WAIST/TUMMY, SMALL/MEDIUM EVERYTHING ELSE
Now. WAIST AND TUMMY are different. Tummy is literally your tummy. It is the one with the belly button. It rises up and down depending on our intake of food. Your waist is the distance between your last rib and the tip of your hip bone.
So if you have a long waist, one way to cure that is to find clothes that cut you in the middle to lessen it. One example would be this taupe abstract dress.

For the tummy, you'd think that dresses that covers it would actually minimize it. Unfortunately, NOT ALL THE TIME. To minimize the tummy, the best trick would be to find a dress that makes the onlooker focus on the waist and volumnize your boobs and other parts. A great example would be this printed bell sleeve dress from the Holiday 2011 collection as worn by Erzullie Icon Khriselda Guarin.

I also recommend small dark prints all over to minimize the tummy visually. Check out this long top from Holiday 2010.

Make sure though that you choose the right loose top. Do not make it too loose or you'll look bigger and slouchy.
BODY TYPE: BIG HIPS/TIGHS, SMALL/MEDIUM EVERYTHING ELSE
One way to minimize the hips is to wear something dark and loose at the bottom. Like this Erzullie Maxi Pants.

You can also wear dresses that are loose at the bottom but drops vertically and not in flair (anything flair would actually emphasize your hips more). Like this brown Maxi dress above.
WHEW! THAT WAS A LONG ONE!
And so my wonderful sexy ladies, I hope that you find these techniques to be useful in minimizing your body part of choice. Have fun with it!
Cheers!
