WANTED: MALE MODELS FOR A PHOTO SHOOT WITH ERZULLIE

THIS IS OPEN FOR BOTH REGULAR AND PLUS SIZE MALE MODELS.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. CLEAR PORTFOLIO (PROFESSIONAL/AMATEUR) - INCLUDE HEAD AND WHOLE BODY SHOTS

2. MUST BE PROFESSIONAL TO WORK AND ABLE TO WORK WITH PLUS SIZE MODELS

3. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- HEIGHT: 5'5" OR TALLER
- MUST HAVE GOOD/FIT PHYSIQUE FOR THEIR RESPECTIVE DIVISION
- AGE: 18-30 YEARS OLD

4. MUST BE ABLE TO GO TO A MODEL GO SEE (WHEN INVITED), PROVIDE OWN WARDROBE FOR SHOOT (PLUS!), TRAVEL AROUND METRO MANILA, PHILIPPINES AND MUST BE AVAILABLE ON JUNE OR JULY 2013

FAQ's: (Read and Re-read before asking questions. Inquiries that are already answered by the FAQ's will be ignored)

1. What kind of male models are you looking for?
- This project is open for both REGULAR and PLUS SIZE Male models

2. What project is this for?
- This project is for an Erzullie Photoshoot on June/July 2013

3. What kind of portfolio are you looking for? I only have photos that my photographer friend has taken, is that okay?
- Portfolio can be professionally done or collaborative works with other artists. As long as it is clear and it looks professional it's okay. Anything less of that level will immediately be rejected.

4. My height is below the requirement, can I still apply? I am 5"5' with shoes, can I still apply?
- Height is very strict and must be 5"5' (without shoes) onwards

5. What do you mean by good/fit physique?
- Good/Fit Physique means must have a healthy looking body for their respective divisions

6. I am 17 (and below) or 31 years (onwards) of age right now but I still want to apply, can I?
- Age must be 18 and 30 by the time of May 2013. Any application that shows otherwise will be rejected. (ID's will be required during the go-see should you be chosen to be invited to be fair with the rest of the models who are honest enough to comply).

7. What happens next after I have submitted my portfolio? How can I know if I am accepted?
- Partially approved models will be invited to a go see. Invites will be released on June 2013.

8. What form of compensation will you give me, should I be chosen to model for this particular project?
- Compensation will be discussed to chosen models only.

9. What kind of wardrobe should I have (as stated in the requirements?)
- Wardrobe main focus is a professional suit and tie and other casual garments.

10. Whom will I be working with?
- You will be working with plus size models and must be professional. Any attitude or work ethic that is otherwise will be immediately rejected.

11. Who will decide who gets in?
- All decisions are reserved by the designers and are final.

Those who has been approved shall be emailed back and invited to the plus size go see within the month of October 2012. DEADLINE OF APPLICATION IS ON SEPTEMBER 29, 2012 9:00 PM (*6)

READ CAREFULLY AND UNDERSTAND THOROUGHLY:

*1) Must be at the time you have sent your application. For example: Today, July 8, 2012 your age is 29 but you will be 30 before the go see on October 2012. IT'S OKAY. As long as you are within that age range 18-29 when you have submitted your application, IT'S OKAY.

In another example, you are 17 today (July 8, 2012) and you will only turn 18 years of age after the GO-SEE on October 2012 (ex your birthday is on November 2012 and so forth), unfortunately you will have to wait for next year.

*2) We really need models who are flexible in terms of modelling garments and is confident enough to wear sleeveless and tube. 

We are open to both VETERANS AND AMATEURS. If you can do the poses that we require of you, then we are good.

We highly encourage that you get your photos done professionally or at least submit photos that are clear. This way, we can see you better. We HIGHLY ENCOURAGE that you at least submit the MINIMUM PHOTO REQUIREMENTS so that you give yourself a fairer chance when it comes to review. You are not giving yourself justice if you send us NUMEROUS HEADSHOTS and NO BODY SHOTS of yourself (AND VICE VERSA). We will only cater to those who have the minimum requirements to be fair to others who have exerted their effort in following it. 

*3) to be revealed when model is chosen for project.

*4)We will only accept applications VIA EMAIL with the CORRECT FORMAT. Any application who has violated this format will be AUTOMATICALLY REJECTED to be fair to those who has complied with the instruction. Thank you.

*5) A lot of your girls are asking if we accept models OUTSIDE OF METRO MANILA, PHILIPPINES. Yes we do. As long as your comfortable travelling to MANILA for the go-see and (if chosen) for the shoots on your own, we are okay.

There are also questions about the sizes. Please see the requirements above. You must have AT LEAST 2 of the measurements down to be accepted. 

Example (1) you are good with the BUST AND WAIST but is beyond or short on the hips, IT'S OKAY. 

Example (2) you are good with the WAIST AND HIPS but is beyond or short on the BUST, IT'S OKAY

Example (3) you are good with the HIPS AND BUST but is beyond or short on the WAIST, IT'S OKAY.

It is also good to note that you must know how to measure your body because only APPLICATIONS WITH COMPLETE AND CORRECT requirements are going to be accepted. 

*6) ONCE YOU HAVE SUBMITTED YOUR APPLICATION, please wait AFTER THE DEADLINE (SEPTEMBER 29, 2012) and the announcement of the RELEASE OF INVITES on all of our social sites. That is the ONLY TIME THAT WE WILL RELEASE INVITES. We will only review and screen the applications THOROUGHLY AFTER THE DEADLINE.

Those who have passed their COMPLETE AND CORRECT  model applications before this UPDATED REQUIREMENTS is posted no longer need to pass another application. Not unless, you find your application to have been done wrong. 

OTHER FAQ'S:

1. This go-see is for the ERZULLIE RESORT 2013 collection. It's for the FASHION LINE ALONE. We are not a modelling agency (JUST SO WE ARE CLEAR). For the plus size model go-see we may get 1-2 models or none depending on how the go-see turns out. 

This also means that YOU WILL BE MODELLING CLOTHES AND THERE WILL BE CLOTHES ON YOU. 

2. This plus size model go see is DIFFERENT from the search for the NEXT ERZULLIE ICON. Erzullie Icon's screening process is different than models.

3. It's a plus if you are a natural supporter of the brand or if you have bought and worn Erzullie before.

4. After the deadline, the fashion line will release INVITES via the OFFICIAL EMAIL OF ERZULLIE (erzullie@yahoo.com) ONLY to all the TOP 50 models accepted. The models must confirm their slot on a given deadline (to be stated in the invite). Only then will they be given instructions on the process of the plus size model go-see.

5. To those who have sent their applications last year 2011 and still want to join this year, OF COURSE YOU CAN. You just have to submit the requirements above again. WE DO NOT KEEP YOUR PORTFOLIO AND INFO WITH US FOR YOUR OWN PRIVACY AND PROTECTION FROM OUR END. 

6. ONLY APPLICATIONS THAT CORRECTLY FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS will be entertained to be fair to those that did.

PLUS SIZE MODELS: HOW TO GET BOOKED! ♥♥♥

Since the surge of a lot of model and icon applications to us, I got inspired to post some tips that may help you girls get booked (here in Erzullie or in other fabulous plus size projects).

I have been having go sees for different brands since 2008, so this is just accumulated model wisdom from 3 years of experience. This is also based on my selection preferences when it comes to selecting Icons and Models for the brand.

I am not a MODEL GODDESS... never will be. Just a human being working her way through life and picking up lessons as she goes.

TIP 1: YOUR PHOTOS

Submit professionally done photos, even if it is not stated there. Why? It shows how serious you are to this project. Even if you are an amateur, submitting professionally done photos can actually help you getting favor for this project. It at least shows that you willing to be professional in this project.

Submitting phone camera photos are never a good thing. It is often blurred and obviously, unprofessional.

When you do get photos professionally done, for first timers, it would be great if you have the following:


1. Close up beauty shot with minimal make up
2. Close up beauty shot with full on make up
3. Profile beauty shot with minimal make up
4. Profile beauty shot with full on make up
5. Whole body commercial pose
6. Whole body editorial pose
7. Whole body catalogue pose

Close up is the one where you are directly facing the camera and it shows your whole face, down to your neckline.

Profile is when the side of your face is the one facing the camera.

Commercial pose is the one when you are like in a "commercial" for a product. You are not necessarily selling something but you are inviting people to take a look at the product in a subtle manner.

Editorial pose are the ones with contorted poses most of the time. It's more artistic. Think of editorial shots in the magazines

Catalogue pose is the one deliberately selling something through posing with the product.

In addition, for first timers, I usually advice that you have one with white background on it. This actually gives you a cleaner look for your portfolio.

Organize your photos in a PORTFOLIO book. Mind you, this is different from a set-card. A Set-Card is a photo card usually 5R where your details (Name, Age, Mobile Number, Email and Vitals), close up photo, half body photo and whole body photo are all placed inside. Should you have one, make sure that the details are readable and the photos are clear. Set cards can be given to the clients but portfolio book should always be given back to you.

Going back on the portfolio book, this is the accumulation of your work as a model. There is actually no written law on how to arrange it, as far as I know. However, by experience, start out with a nice close up beauty shot with minimal make up, then build it from there.

Your portfolio should take the client into a ride on your skills as a model. So it does not need to be arranged chronologically. It's a presentation, that book. So make sure that you build your background first, set drama, build a peak, solution and conclusion (which should be a happy ending).

TIP 2: MIND THE REQUIREMENTS

In submitting requirements, make sure that you read the INSTRUCTIONS 10 TIMES and fully understand what you are getting into. Nothing irritates a client more than a model that does not think before doing anything!

To us, if you cannot follow a simple instruction, what more if we start directing you on the set?

To tell you honestly, the 411 girls was immediately cut in half because these models did not follow instructions.

FOLLOW THEM ON THE DOT. This shows how great you are in understanding simple instructions and does not waist the time of the client.

TIP 3: KNOW THE BRAND MORE

Although this is not universal, it actually helps if you know the brand that you are representing. This will actually help you in arranging your portfolio and knowing what kind of poses do they need to see in the go see. Furthermore, it would also show your sincerity that this "modelling gig" is more than just a job to you. It is also your passion.

Knowledge about the brand is a plus definitely. Know the image that they usually project, who are the owners, why they are important (according to them, not to you) and also what are the current trends they are showing. 

Personally, nothing irks me more, than a model not knowing the brand. It already shows how insincere this person is, and is only looking for fame, which distracts her from the real reason why I am hiring her --- to model for me.

TIP 4: NOTHING TASTES BETTER THAN A HUMBLE PIE

Yes, you got the look. Yes, you got the portfolio. Yes, you got the experience.

But ultimately, if your attitude sucks, chances are the client won't work with you. YOUR CLIENT IS YOUR FUTURE BOSS. Showing them how great you are, to the point that you are ABOVE THEM, is definitely a NO.

Let your work talk for you. Nothing says REAL REPUTATION, than actual reputation, talking for you. If you are really great as you say you are, there is absolutely no need for you to say it to the client's face.

Talk when spoken to. Take interest in the client but don't grill them.

TIP 5: WORK ON YOUR RUNWAY

Watch professional runway shows in official sites of great designers and watch how these models walk.

Plus Size Model Go-Sees most of the time, requires you to walk, so make sure that your walk is powerful but not angry, poised but not forgettable.

Last October 1, 2011, we had a go see at the Rouge Studio, Ortigas Center, Pasig City. Out of the 411 girls, we sent out 30 invites for the top 30 women that we think can do a great job for our runway. Out of the 30 only 15 reserved. Out of the 15, we were able to meet 10 fabulous models vying for a spot on our fashion show for the HOLIDAY 2011.  

Models who will be chosen shall have an opportunity of a lifetime to represent Erzullie in one of the most prestigious fashion trunk shows in the Metro and gift certificates from the brand.

We have mentioned before that we are going to participate in one of the most prestigious trunk shows in the Metro. We have now finalized everything and the Erzullie Holiday 2011 fashion show is soooo on!

The Erzullie Holiday 2011 is special, not only because we are the first plus size fashion line to be featured by Empresario Manila, but because this is the time that we are now going to launch our campaign --- "Now, I'm Fierce!"

Basically, the campaign is about plus size women discovering self-love and channeling it to become their new power as women.

Our Icons are going to shoot a commercial today. The first ever ERZULLIE COMMERCIAL, to be shown in various websites by Empresario Manila.

We are very excited!!!
