I'm not going to lie. What's happening to me is not funny. I'm also not going to lie. I am enjoying my time off from Erzullie.
There. I said it.I got burned out. Don't get me wrong. It doesn't mean that I am quitting the industry or what. I just want to have a step back and appreciate what was lost, gained and everything in between.
There are times when I receive news of it, I am glad that I have taken a break from it. Believe me, just like any industry, you also get stupid news every now and then. Then, there are some tidbits that you wish you were back.
Yes. We are still doing events. We even came up with this interesting one: "Pick Your Price Sale" Honestly, I am excited to push this event. I want to see how it's going to be received by the Erzulliestas. Hopefully, it's positive so that we can make it as a mainstay annual event.
But recently, I have been doing other jobs just to gain more experience and at least exercise my brain a little bit. If you keep on constantly doing one thing for so long, you sometimes become stale and that is one thing that you definitely do not want to have as a designer.
I miss making concepts, creating fierceness. I actually want to see something new on our roster already. We have been slowly promoting the Resort 2015 collection, even I am getting tired of it. I want something new. I want something fresh. But I have to be patient. I know myself. I'm not ready. There's something missing and until I find it, I can't pick up another pen to draw a new collection.
