It’s almost the end of the year, ladies. And it’s that time again where people are freaking out on where “time went by” and how much they feel that they have done nothing great with their lives. And even if to some, that may ring true, I want to calm the minds and nerves of my Erzulliestas. I am here to tell you right now --- yes, my dear --- you have accomplished a lot.
I would always see an Erzulliesta working her ass off in the office. So just because you didn’t get a promotion or you are still in the same spot, in the same job, whatever cubicle, office, café, style studio or bedroom you are in, I want to shove it to your face (for consideration) that you have managed to maintain a job for a year (or even more). So give yourself a pat at the back.
Some people got fired this year. Some people quit their job this year and some (dare we say it) lost their passion for it. So if you are able to maintain where you are at least, rest assured that you are as fierce as the first time you felt like you were on top of the world when you got that job.
So, you’re still not yet married (if you did, congratulations!). Congratulations in being fabulously single! Rest assured some married women are looking at you know and being a bit envious of your single freedom --- do whatever you want, whenever you want.
And since you are single, you have a lot of time. You don’t know it but you have invested time to the people that you love, things that you do care about and above all? Got to know yourself even more throughout the year. Go ahead. Reflect. I double dare you. You are not the person you were last year.
Now, we turn to the “B” word --- the baby word. Even if you do not have a baby yet, rest assured my dear that you have went through a great ordeal. You may not be carrying another life in your tummy, but you have your whole lifestyle to care for, work for and maintain. Still sounds like a baby you need to attend to right?
And with this, I would like to say. Dear Erzulliestas, keep those blues away. You have accomplished a lot this year and don’t you even dare think that you didn’t. After all, the best accomplishment that you have right now is the fact that you are still here. Reading this blog post. And knowing that at the end of the day, you lived your life just like everyone else. And just like everyone else --- yours is special.
